Terms of Service

The Service

Knowmad lets you request research-oriented podcast episodes on a topic and listen to finished episodes. Generation uses automated pipelines (including language models, research sources, and text-to-speech). Output may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect; always verify important claims against primary sources.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You need an account (email and password) to request and play episodes. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Abuse, scraping, or attempts to exhaust generation capacity may result in a suspended or closed account.

Your responsibilities

You agree that you will:

• Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
• Not submit topics or audience text that are unlawful, harassing, or that infringe others’ rights.
• Not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer (except where permitted by law), or overload the Service.
• Understand that episodes you request are stored for your account and are not a private message to us.

Content and intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service software, branding, and pipeline. Generated episode audio and scripts are provided for your personal, non-commercial listening and review unless we agree otherwise in writing. Research papers and other third-party materials remain owned by their respective rights holders; Knowmad does not grant you rights beyond fair use or other applicable exceptions.

You retain any rights you have in the topic and audience text you submit. You grant us a license to use that text to operate the Service, including generating and storing episodes for your account.

No warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that generation will succeed, that audio will be available without interruption, or that content will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or stop providing the Service, or suspend your account, if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users.

Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version in the app. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
